The product
Beer Can Island is our most ambitious build: an end-to-end platform that powers a real membership club and LLC-ownership community on a privately owned island in Tampa Bay. It's not a brochure website — it's the operating system the business actually runs on, handling members, money, ownership, and tax paperwork in one place.
What we built
Members sign up, manage their profiles and avatars, and message one another through a built-in inbox with notifications and direct messages. Through integrated Stripe Checkout, they can purchase three distinct things: club memberships, LLC ownership shares, and event/drink-ticket wallets — each with its own purchase and fulfillment flow.
Behind the public site sits a full administrative back office with role-based access control (master admin, admin, and accountant roles), giving staff the right level of access to member management and reporting.
The hard part: real equity accounting
What sets this build apart is a genuine equity cap-table system. The platform tracks per-owner ownership percentages across multiple LLCs, records capital contributions, runs an expense-claim approval workflow, and manages cash payouts to owners. It even automates K-1 tax-document distribution — splitting a single master IRS K-1 PDF into individual per-member filings and matching each one to the right owner, so members can securely download their own documents.
Growth built in
A native referral engine gives every member a personalized vanity link (for example, beercanisland.com/yourname), validates custom slugs in real time, and tracks referral rewards and payouts automatically — turning the membership base into a growth channel.
Going mobile
Beer Can Island now extends beyond the web with native iOS and Android apps, bringing the community and membership experience to members' phones. The Android app is in Google Play review and the iOS app is in Apple's review pipeline under RG Loomis LLC.
Why it matters
Beer Can Island proves we can take a venture all the way — from public website, to payments, to a mobile app, to the real back-office accounting that runs the business underneath. That end-to-end ownership is exactly what we bring to client work.
